Far from being sidelined by the pandemic, the Naples International Film Festival has been invigorated. It has chosen, in a year of jarring realities, true stories to bookend a hybrid of virtual and fresh-air films.

The festival, with Artis—Naples as its umbrella organization, is Oct. 22-25. It opens and closes with documentaries on a king and a cult hero.

Several winners from other film festivals. One of them, “Fish & Men,” is a thought-provoking dive into the waters of our seafood industry, showing where it actually comes from and how our choices imperil it.
